What has happened at CriticalConnection?

COVID did a number on healthcare; however, we survived. We downsized both in number of staff and our physical space. We only have two staff working in the office and our two IT who work from home. Anyone in Austin who would like to see our new home is welcome to stop by. Our new office is 8400 North MoPac #200. We are in The Woods II right on the MoPac service road.

Because so many of our clinics shut down or converted to telehealth, vendor revenue pretty much dried up with the exception of Spectrum (which used to be Time Warner). Internet and phone continue to have a presence.

We have expanded our board to include Jim Nelson who was the head of the healthcare vertical for Time Warner, Dr. Allen Sonstein (who you should all know) and Dr. Glenn Loomis (medical director for Cerner) Cerner is one of the largest EHR products in the country used mostly by hospitals.
We spent the covid downtime creating a new version of the health record called Patient Data Quick (PDQ), a program controlled by the patient instead of referral network clinics. Patients have the legal right to acquire their medical records. We have created a process that enables our 501(c) (3) foundation to gather and hold the patient’s requested record until the patient wants to release it. The business model is a $10 per month charge to the patient to have their entire medical record available (not just a portion of it) whenever they have a need for it.

To see a demonstration go to pdq.patientdataquick.com on your browser line,
click on that and a welcome page will come up, click on the demo tab at the top of the page and then click on login to view the demo. The record looks very much like the Community Health Record with one exception, it includes all data including hospital data.

We have a possible new user audience of personal injury attorneys and have contracted a commission-based consultant to access this group.

The PDQ looks promising.
